Sr. Manager Compensation Consulting
Primary Job Responsibility
1. Partner with internal clients (HR and business leaders); lead the design of compensation and recognition programs that align with the Company’s global compensation philosophy/policies and support business priorities.
2. Develop and manage project plans and timetables in collaboration with Business HR, Practice Centers, Area Directors and the Service Center. Identify and agree on service levels, delivery standards and project deliverables/metrics.
Core Job Responsibility
1. Manages projects involving the design & delivery of compensation programs/initiatives including initial roll-out (communication) and product launch, closely managing the relationship with the businesses through both operations and human resources.
2. Provide counsel and communication on compensation programs to business management, human resources and employees.
3. Provide input to the design, execution and maintenance of broad-based compensation philosophies, practices, processes and operational guidelines.
4. Serve as company’s overall compensation design expert in various program areas.
Position Accountability / Scope
Reports to Director, International Comp Consulting.
1. Operates independently within own scope of responsibility under general supervision
2. Interacts with all levels of the organization to gather data, conduct research, and present findings/recommendations
3. Collaborates with other practice centers, the transaction center, and Account Managers to create and execute implementation and administration plans and improve existing compensation practices at Abbott
4. Contacts external experts (consulting firms, professional associations, and benchmarking services) to gather research on best practices
5. Stays current with Abbott business trends and division goals and applies knowledge to projects
6. No formal budget responsibility. Responsible for managing and identifying issues related to external consulting budgets for assigned projects
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s Degree in business, human resources or related field.
• Master’s Degree preferred
• 10+ years business experience including project management
Minimum Experience / Training Required
8+ year’s business experience including project management
5 years Compensation consulting experience
